Fellowships for Music study in the U.S.A.

The fellowship is an outright non renewable grant of up to $40,000. The stipend of $15,000 is to cover living and travel expenses. In addition, the Foundation pays up to $25,000 for tuition and health insurance at a U.S. school of music (university level). Fellows are expected to stay in the U.S.A. for a full academic year (nine months).
Students who have means of their own to finance their studies in the U.S.A. may apply for an Honorary Fellowship of the Foundation.

Eligibility requirements

1. be a Belgian citizen;

2. submit an application, not earlier than in the last year of study and not later than four years after obtaining one of the following:

a. "Meestergraad" from a "Koninklijk Conservatorium", from the "Lemmens Instituut" or from the "Vlaamse Examencommissie";

b. "Diplôme Supérieur" or "Premier Prix de Composition, de Jazz ou de Musique Electronique" from a "Conservatoire Royal de Musique";

c. "Lauréat" or "Prix Jean Absil" from "Imep";

d. "Diploma van Gegradueerde van de Muziekkapel Koningin Elizabeth" or "Diplôme de Gradué de la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elizabeth";

e. A degree in music obtained from a foreign institution and equivalent to the degrees mentioned under a) to d);

3. submit a recent recording of personal performance or work on digital audiotape;

4. have an outstanding academic record;

5. have a good command of the English language. 

Deadline for Application  

Before October 31 for study during following academic year.
