The laureate of the B.A.E.F. Alumni Award 2018 in Exact Sciences is Dr Jutho Haegeman.

The Alumni Award Selection Committee 2018 chaired by Prof. Yvan Bruynseraede was really impressed by the academic track record of Jutho Haegeman an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UGent that was recognized with the 2018 Francqui prize to prof. Frank Verstraete. Jutho is essentially conducting independent research on tensor network methods to quantum field theories.
